I cry at weddings. I didn’t before I started photographing them. There’s just something about really getting to know the bride and groom and their families and their love stories that gets way down into my heart. And sometimes I cry when I’m working on the photos too. That happened when I saw these photos if Jenna & Matt…
Just moments apart on their wedding day, Jenna & Matt each stopped to pray with their families and friends surrounding them at the back of the USAF Academy Chapel. Matt, head bowed, as he prepared to welcome his bride. Jenna, with her mother at her shoulder, holding her gift from her groom… their first family bible. My breath catches in my throat when I think about the love surrounding them.
The way these moments were captured brought tears to my eyes. And overwhelmed me with incredible gratitude at the precious opportunity that we are entrusted with when we photograph a wedding. These moments are truly priceless. To all of the brides and grooms who welcome me into their stories, thank you, from the very bottom of my heart.
