Patrina’s Family at Lakeside

I love Lakeside. Truly. This is what an amusement park should be like. Lakeside opened a hundred years ago and while Elitch Gardens moved downtown and got big, Lakeside is still the way I remember it from my childhood. It’s closed for the season now and I’ll miss it terribly until next spring. But! We managed to get in for portraits before it closed this year and… oh my!

Patrina is just one of the sweetest people I have ever, ever, ever met. I’m so very fortunate that she emailed this spring and came into my life. (Lilly & Xerxes, you might recognize this beautiful lady!) Patrina is a brilliant photographer in her own right, so when she asked about portraits for her own family I was both a little nervous and absolutely thrilled.

We thought waaaaay out of the box and headed to Lakeside. And oh wow, did we ever have fun! We did a few quick portraits of the family and then I followed them around capturing this amazing family together. Patrina & Bruce love these kids soooo much and are totally romantic together. Briana’s got so much in her that you just know she’s going to change the world. Not to mention her incredible smile. Rachel’s got these magical freckles and I wanted to follow her everywhere. For Brandon it was all about the roller coasters and his first time on the big one… the Cyclone. And then there’s Adam. Darling, adorable, tiny Adam who I think owns everyone’s heart.

We spent a few busy hours all over the park and as the sun set I felt incredibly blessed that this is how I get to spend my days…

Patrina Odette - Paige! Sweet Paige…you are wonderful. Thank you for capturing my little family, we’ll treasure these forever. We all had a blast — the kids were all still so ramped up after we left, even after all those hours playing together. You’re amazing, thank you for everything!
