I walked the mall yesterday and, as on Sunday, energy was just amazing. Everyone is so excited and friendly. You’d think any anger or impatience had been sent out of the city for the week. The photo of me is about as close as I’m going to get to where Obama will be sworn in....
I keep pinching myself. I can’t believe we here. We heard U2 live. We heard Stevie Wonder. Pete Seeger looked like he was having a blast. I listened to the president-elect speak about where we’ve been and where we’re going. And all of this as part of the biggest crowd I’ve ever been in.
