What was your favorite wedding photo? I’m not sure this is allowed, but even after a year I can’t pick my favorite picture. I love the ones of us on the rocky hill (almost killed myself climbing in my dress!), but I also love the one of us with the handcuffs because it reminds me of the great sense of humor that exists in our family! Sorry, you do too well of a job to pick a favorite!

What one piece of advice would you give a couple about to celebrate their wedding? Two days before your wedding assign one or two trusted people to handle any last minute details or crisis. Take this opportunity to enjoy and spend time with your friends, family, and soon to be spouse; not worrying about wedding details!

How are you celebrating your first anniversary? We are going to Spain.

What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead? We are hoping to start a family.

What was your favorite wedding photo? Our favorite wedding photo is the pic of us at the entry of the barn kissing with the best man and maid of honor in the background-you took the photo from above. They were all so beautiful; it was definitely a tough choice.

What one piece of advice would you give a couple about to celebrate their wedding? Give yourself plenty of time to plan wisely, shop around and find the perfect location and vendors for your wedding.

How are you celebrating your first anniversary? We are celebrating our first anniversary on the beach in Belize renewing our vows (getting the new ring blessed-oops!)

What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead? Enjoying our time traveling together before we start our family.

What was your favorite wedding photo? We hope you remember this one, I had just introduced John to someone as my husband!!! and we look at one another then, in our favorite, we are smiling at our friends in the realization of what has just happened. Are you sure we can’t choose more favorites???!!!

What one piece of advice would you give a couple about to celebrate their wedding? Hire Paige Elizabeth to capture absolutely every emotion of your love for one another! Be in the moment of the day and laugh at everything!!!

How are you celebrating your first anniversary? We are doing two things. First, we are headed back to DU Chapel and grounds with a picnic. We are having mini lamb chops, champagne from our toasting glasses and the top of our wedding carrot cake that has been in our freezer for the past year!!! Second, we will be in a little Tuscan villa for the actual date of our wedding and are having an authentic Tuscan meal prepared and served by a Tuscan chef. We are amazed that a year has passed!!! Both celebrations will be a treat!!!

What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead? More of the same!! Life is so much sweeter when shared with the one who truly loves you!!

Tell us your favorite thing about your wedding… How in love we are and that we created our wedding in a way that was unique to us. And we’re both proud that we did it our way and didn’t cave into to all the social norms and family pressures of having a traditional wedding.

What was your favorite wedding photo? This is a hard question, we have so many favorite photos! I think one of my favorites is of us smiling and kissing and hugging after our marriage was pronounced official. We also both love the one of me (Tristin) looking out of the curtains inside the Lumber Baron. I also love the one with us kissing in the background all fuzzy, and flowers crisp and clear in the foreground. And of course all the photos of our getaway car, especially the one showing the back where our family painted “Honk for Love”!

What one piece of advice would you give a couple about to celebrate their wedding? Take a deep breath and remember that all the details aren’t what matters, what matters is that this day is to celebrate your love. And remember that whatever goes wrong (something will!) will be a funny story for years to come! Also hang in there…all that hard work is going to pay off. Once the music starts and the ceremony commences, you’re not allowed to stress. Whatever happens will happen..just be in the moment. And soak it all in cause it goes by too fast.

How are you celebrating your first anniversary? For our first anniversary we went on a road trip to Devils Tower, Wyoming, and also to the black hills in South Dakota to stay in Deadwood, and also to see the Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse carvings. It was great to get away! We also had some wedding cake, and cracked open the bottle of champagne that we had our guests sign as a guest book.

What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead? Hopefully getting pregnant and having a healthy baby! And if it all works out, Paige, we will be calling you for some baby photos!

Tell us your favorite thing about your wedding… Our favorite thing about the wedding day was the ceremony itself. In the eye of the storm, it really felt like we were alone together and thinking about our commitment. Everything went perfectly, and it was just a romantic and special moment for us to contemplate our marriage.

What was your favorite wedding photo? Personally, my favorite photos were the one with the bouquet over Dave’s shoulder, and the wide view of the chapel in black and white.

What one piece of advice would you give a couple about to celebrate their wedding? Wedding advice? Don’t torture yourself with Martha Stewart! Actually one of the best choices we made was to keep the invite list very small. We had 45 guests at the reception, and everyone got a chance to meet, get to know each other, and really party. We were never distracted by trying to get face time with each person that walked through the door, it was all our nearest and dearest.

How are you celebrating your first anniversary? Our first anniversary has been overwhelmed by life changes — our twins entered the world early, so we are taking care of them at the hospital for a few more weeks. Of course, we are thrilled and in love with them already. And at the same time, we’re moving! We joked that for our “paper” anniversary, I gave Dave two birth certificates, and he gave me “buy” and “sell” real estate contracts. : )

What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead? So in the year ahead, we are most excited about bringing home the new family, Adelaide and Logan, and starting down our new path in life together. We just couldn’t be more excited!
