Dog Photography Workshop at Working with Artists 8.8.09

It’s almost here! I had such a blast during the mini workshops in June and I’ll be back at Working with Artists on August 8th teaching a full day class. You can find full details for the class and registration info on the WWA website here. There are still a few spots open. Drop me a comment or an email if you’re coming!

Course topics include:
- Essentials Tools: camera gear and all the other goodies you’ll need
- Dog Behavior: understanding how dogs communicate with us and how to use that understanding to create the photos you want
- Push vs. Pull: motivating a four-legged model
- Other Subjects: horses, cats, rats… the implications of other creatures
- Live Shoot Using Available Light
- Discussion of Studio Light: its benefits and limits when working with dogs

(Students should have a solid understanding of ISO, aperture, and shutter speeds, as well as operative focal lengths.)

Ooooooh so excited about this. Dogs are my heart. I love everything about their furry, slobbery goodness and capturing it on film. What’s even better is the opportunity to share that love…

The wonderful folks at Working With Artists have invited me to teach dog photography for them this summer and it’s going to be sooooooooo much fun! You can find info on their site about the Half Stop workshop this weekend. I’ll be teaching a one hour teaser at 11am and then the full class will be August 8th.

Be sure to contact WWA if you’re planning to come Saturday. (Leave a comment or drop me an email to let me know too!) Attendance at the Half Stop is limited to members, but it’s very inexpensive to join and a great organization. The full August class is open to everyone. Hope to see y’all there!
